Since 1949, PKCC has been owned and operated by the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC). Supported by congregations affiliated with HPBC, PKCC hosts groups and individuals in a retreat setting. PKCC when translated from Hawaiian, means “Hill of Calling”. Hearing God’s call can be heard at PKCC.
As you enter the gate at PKCC, you get a sense of another place and time. Plantation Hale was once the private mansion of a sugar plantation owner. In its heyday, lavish parties were held in the dining room with views of the sweeping lanai and the mountain beyond. The three-story mansion boasted of a wrap-around veranda on the second floor and a polished ballroom on the third floor.
Facilities include 7 cottages with bunk bed lodging and 8 private rooms with baths. The second floor Plantation Hale features 5 private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. The first floor lanai can seat up to 125 for a meal in the screened lanai. A meeting/conference room for up to 50 is also available. The grounds include volleyball and basketball courts, a playground for keikei and space for recreation. The beach is located just 2 blocks away. Additional new facilities are planned for the future.
